Daily Mail reported that a terrible work accident occurred at a construction site in Guangdong province, southern China on August 27. A female construction worker named Huong, while working at the construction site, accidentally fell from a height of 3m. As a result, she was stabbed by an 80cm long iron bar from her right shoulder to her buttocks.
The victim was quickly taken to the Quang Dong Traditional Medicine Hospital by his colleagues for emergency treatment. After checking, the doctors discovered that most of the iron bar had been stuck through the woman's body but fortunately did not touch the vital organs and arteries.
An X-ray showed a long stick end protruding from the patient's shoulder while most of the rest was inside her body.
After a 3-hour emergency surgery, the doctors successfully removed the iron bar from the female worker's body.
Quang Dong TV station quoted Dr. Le Gia, leader of Quang Dong Traditional Medicine Hospital, as saying: 'The surgery went smoothly, the patient was lucky not to have an iron bar touching the arteries in the lungs and chest'.
The female patient is currently in a stable condition, waiting to recover at the hospital.
