RT reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry said on February 16 that the US and its European allies seemed to have used pre-prepared arguments to immediately blame Russia for the death of opposition blogger Alexei Navalny in prison in Siberia.
Navalny, 47, fell while walking and was later confirmed dead. The cause of death is still being determined.
The West's response " once again demonstrates their Hypocratic, Sceptical and Unprincpious Europe" - the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The Russian Federal Prison in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region informed Navalny of his death at 2:19 p.m. Moscow on February 16 and a series of copying allegations began to pour into the true sense 15 minutes later, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
First was the accusation of Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom of terrifying crimes and of Norwegian Foreign Minister Bart Eide of heavy burden of responsibility at 2:45 p.m. Meanwhile, Russian President Edgars Rinkevics spoke about the brutal killing in the next 6 minutes, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky has also followed, accusing Russia of killing those who dream of a better future. A minute later, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne declared Navalny had fought against an oppressed system.
European Council President Charles Michel said at 3:02 p.m. that the EU came full responsibility to Russia for this tragic death. Eight minutes later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that Navalny had clearly been killed.
Similar allegations were made by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, moldovan President Maia Sandu, German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and finally French President Emmanuel Macron at 5:28 p.m.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that within just 2 hours, Western politicians and media could "receive the results of the forensic assessment that had not been carried out, conduct an investigation, blame Russia and make a verdict".
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that these responses must have been prepared in advance and in the mold of "blaming Russia after all".
The Russian Foreign Ministry added: We can believe in this miraculous, incredible speed if the whole world does not follow the helpless interview into the months-long terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipeline that have not yet reached any conclusions.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian Federal Prisons Service (FSIN) is taking all necessary steps to investigate the death of Alexei Navalny.
Navalny passed away on the afternoon of February 16 at a prison in Yamalo-Nenets, where he is serving a 19-year sentence for crimes related to extremistry. According to the prison authorities, Navalny felt unwell, unconscious while walking and was declared dead by doctors shortly thereafter.
Peskov told reporters that FSIN is taking all the necessary steps in such a situation, so there is no need to launch a special investigation.
Medical experts will determine the exact cause of Navalny's death and Russian President Vladimir Putin has been informed of the situation.
Navalny first emerged as a right-wing activist and one of the leaders of the Russian March - an extreme nationalist protest previously held annually in Moscow.
Navalny later changed his ideology to suit Western free will and consider himself an opponent of President Vladimir Putin, running for president in 2018 despite being investigated for fraud at the time.
Navalny was released from prison in early 2021, initially for violating probation. He received an additional 19 years in prison for extremeism last year. In December, Navalny was transferred to a prison in Yamalo-Nenets.
