An Israeli soldier was convicted on charges of receiving money to provide video of missile interception to Iran.

A soldier of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) convicted of spying for Iranian forces throughout 2025 has been sentenced to 5 years in prison by a military court, the IDF announced on July 15.

This person is accused of providing information to Iranian spies in exchange for pay, including videos recording the interception of Iranian missiles during the war. According to the IDF, this soldier received many messages via Telegram requesting payment in exchange for videos and images containing sensitive security information.

Among the videos that this soldier is accused of sending, there are two videos of missiles being intercepted that he self-recorded during Operation Rising Lion, along with some other videos he found online showing missiles hitting Israel.

This person confessed that he had contacted a foreign agent and was arrested by security forces. During the trial, the military court considered that this soldier did not share IDF information or any footage he collected in his role in the military.

In addition to imprisonment, this soldier was also fined 1,000 shekels and demoted to Private.
