    About 120,000 people gathered at the River Hongbao festival held on New Year's Eve in the Lion Island.

    Mr. Ng Chee Meng, Minister of Education of Singapore attended the New Year's Eve event held in Marina Bay.

    "I wish peace and prosperity for our country and people," Minister Ng Chee Meng said in a New Year's speech.

    The countdown program to welcome the New Year of the Snake in Singapore starts at 10:00 p.m. on February 15.
