Vietnam's No. 3 Engineering Team at the UNISFA Delegation has taken many meaningful actions in response to the World Environment Day launched by the United Nations.

Vietnam's No. 3 Engineering Team, which is performing peacekeeping missions at the UNISFA Delegation (Abyei), has just participated in a series of practical activities in the military area and the host community, to raise awareness of environmental protection within the framework of World Environment Day - an event launched by the United Nations in 1972,

The theme for 2025 is "Nature recovery for a sustainable future", emphasizing the importance of protecting the ecosystem, minimizing pollution and effectively treating waste, especially plastic waste. World Environment Day is usually held on June 5 every year and is considered the world's biggest environmental event.

In that spirit, the UNISFA Mission launched a widely responding campaign with the participation of international military and civilian units and peacekeeping forces from many countries, including the Vietnamese No. 3 Engineering Team.

The series of activities started in early June with a campaign to promote environmental sanitation and collect plastic waste at Mul Mul market - a densely populated area, which often generates household waste.

In those activities, Engineering Team No. 3 not only plays an active role but also takes the lead in organization and implementation. The unit has mobilized troops and divided them into many specialized groups that are both participating in the Sub-Committee and operating in the unit such as: garbage collection, propaganda, planting trees, and transporting plastic waste to treatment sites.
