On the morning of November 20, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Korea Woo Won Shik and his wife Shin Kyunghye arrived in Hanoi, starting an official visit to Vietnam from November 20 to 22, at the invitation of Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man.
Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Thanh Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Friendship Parliamentarians' Group; full-time member of the National Defense, Security and External Affairs Committee of the National Assembly Pham Phu Binh. On the Korean side was Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam.
Accompanying President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Woo Won Shik on an official visit to Vietnam were National Assembly Member Mun Jinseog; National Assembly Member Hwang Un ha; National Assembly Member Yang Bunam; National Assembly Member Mun Geumju; National Assembly Member Lee Kiheon; National Assembly Member Jung Eulho; Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam.
Mr. Woo Won Shik was born in 1957; in Seoul, South Korea. He has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Yonsei University, Korea (1997); Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Yonsei University, Korea (2009).
He has held the following positions: Deputy Head of the Civil Affairs Commission, the Korean equal Democratic Party (1998); General Secretary, the United for Peace Research Association (1989-1992); Member of the Executive Committee, People's Alliance for Environmental Justice (2000-2004); Member of the National Assembly of the 17th, 19th, 20th terms (2004-2020);
Chairman of the Special Committee on the development of energy transformation industries and climate change response, Accompanying Democratic Party (10.2018 - 5.2020); Member of the 21st National Assembly (5.2020 - 5.2024); Member, Member of the Financial Planning Committee, 21st National Assembly (7.2020);
Chairman of the National and Accompanying Democratic Committee for the Special Development of National Balance (12.2020); Member of the Labor and Environment Committee, National Assembly, term 21 (7.2022 - 5.2024); Permanent Vice Chairman, Social Committee, Accompanying Democratic Party (10.2023 - 5.2024); Member of the 22nd National Assembly (5.2024 - 6.2024).
From June 2024, Mr. Woo Won Shik will be the 22nd Chairman of the National Assembly of South Korea.

According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Korea Vu Ho, the visit of the President of the National Assembly of Korea to Vietnam with a busy schedule at the end of the year brings deep expectations for diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The content of the high-level exchanges is both a symbol of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership entering a period of flourishing and a profound strategic one, summarizing a successful year, creating a premise for strong development in the coming year.
Ambassador Vu Ho emphasized that this visit demonstrates South Korea's strong political determination to deepen and substantially implement the Vietnam-South Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
