About 300 people from all over Europe participated in a competition for solstice, slide, and try to cross the riverbed in the annual mud race on May 12 in England, to raise money for charity. The race was first held in 1973 in the coastal town of Maldon, 50km from London, and raises tens of thousands of pounds a year.
