Germany determined to prevent Nord Stream from returning, a major power is pushing to expel the truth about the sabotage

US investors want to "de-rush" Nord Stream while major political forces in Germany increase pressure to publicize the results of the investigation into the Nord Stream sabotage.

The German government has no intention of restarting the Nord Stream pipeline, which is used to transport Russian gas, nor does it plan to put Nord Stream 2 into operation, Deputy Government spokesman Sebastian Hille said.

Berlin's latest statement on Nord Stream comes after it learned that the debt of Nord Stream 2 operator - Nord Stream 2 AG (a subsidiary of Russia's Gazprom) - would be paid by US investor Stephen Lynch.

Lynch expressed interest in buying back and repairing both Nord Stream systems and putting them into operation under US licenses.

American businessman Lynch has informed German economic ministries of his plans and has filed a lawsuit with the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to request the lifting of sanctions on Nord Stream 2.

The investor argued that restarting Russian gas pipelines under US licenses would de-rustabilize the system and guarantee US influence over European energy infrastructure.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and the European Commission have previously denied the possibility of resuming the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines.

In other developments, regarding the Nord Stream sabotage, the Russian Embassy in Berlin told Russia's Izvestia that Moscow's requests for legal aid had been ignored and that if there were any replies, it would be only formal responses.

"Currently, the situation is still stagnant, the investigation into the terrorist attack continues. Through the statements made, it can be seen that the new German cabinet is actively supporting Brussels in sanctioning Nord Stream, while creating a legal premise to worsen the energy crisis in Europe, said Russian diplomats.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office confirmed to Izvestia that the Nord Stream investigation is still underway, but did not give a clear deadline or any details.

Meanwhile, the German Choice for Russia (AfD), currently the second largest force in the German parliament after the February election, is expected to propose a debate in September to request the release of preliminary investigation results into the explosion of the gas pipeline connecting Russia and Germany across the Baltic Sea. AfD lawmaker Wolfgang Wiele revealed that the debate could take place from 10 to 12 September.

Member Gerold Otten shared: Af Africans have repeatedly requested the restoration of gas pipelines. You can rest assured that AfD lawmakers in the National Assembly and state laws will continue to closely monitor the developments of the incident, completely for national interests, so that the German people know who caused the Nord Stream explosion.

Regardless of how the investigation progresses, the identity of the Nord Stream perpetrator will not be made public, according to Artem Sokolov - senior researcher at the MGIMO Institute under the Russian Foreign Ministry. However, he said Germany could use the investigation process as well as identifying culprits as a tool in its relations with Ukraine and Poland.
