The Dutch government has announced a summons for an Israeli ambassador to the Netherlands to protest the situation in Gaza, which it called unforgivable and unjustified. At the same time, the government of this country imposed an entry ban on two Israeli ministers, Mr. Itamar Ben-Gvir and Mr. Bezalel Smotrich.
The Netherlands accused the two ministers of repeatedly inciting violence against Palestinians and called for "ethnic cleansing" in the Gaza Strip. Their statements and actions are believed to have exceeded accepted limits amid the fierce conflict in the region.
The Dutch move comes after a number of other countries such as the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Norway also took similar measures last month.
This is an increasingly strong international reaction to the behavior of some members of the Israeli government regarding the situation in Gaza.
In the document published at the same time, the Dutch government also expressed support for the European Union (EU)'s recommendation to limit Israel's access to the bloc's key research funding program.
The Netherlands has said it will step up trade sanctions at the European level if Israel is found to have violated an agreement with the EU on increasing aid supply.
