Izvestia reported that in addition to legendary weapons, many new domestic weapons models and promising combat vehicles that have not been officially deployed will participate in the Victory Day parade in Moscow on May 9. These weapons appeared during training sessions held in late April and early May.
Images from the training sessions show that leading the formation as usual is still a symbol of victory - the legendary T-34-85 tank. In particular, this year, the Su-100 self-propelled artillery produced in 1944 will travel alongside the T-34-85 tank. Next are Tiger, MIC-Ural armored vehicles and BTR-82A transport vehicles.
In addition to the 152mm Malva self-propelled artillery mounted on the Voschina tire frame, another new self- propelled artillery model, the 2C44 Hyacinth-K, also appeared during the training sessions. Both models use modern flat-tire frames made by the Bryansk Factory.
Notably, in the recent training sessions, for the first time, people recorded the presence of Orlan, Geran-2 and Lancet unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Military expert Viktor litovkin said that these equipment were included in the parade squad thanks to their high combat effectiveness, both in the front line and the rear area of the enemy.
According to litovkin, the above-mentioned UAVs have caused serious damage to military infrastructure, destroying Ukrainian warehouses and arms factories in recent times. He emphasized that the Orlan is an effective reconnaissance device that helps determine the target coordinates for Russian artillery and missile forces, while the Lancet is a suicide UAV, commonly used in combat missions. All are Russian-made, litovkin added.
Not stopping there, two other combat vehicles - Kurganets infantry fighting vehicles and Boomerang transport vehicles - also appeared in the training sessions, although they were still in the testing phase.
litovkin said the vehicles were being produced in small quantities to be handed over to the military. In the future, Kurganets and Boomerang are expected to replace all current armored vehicles. These are designs that look towards the future, he affirmed.
In addition, Tosochka heavy flare-ups, Iskander tactical missiles, S-400 air defense complex and Yars intercontinental ballistic missiles - the pillar of the Russian nuclear deterrent force - are also likely to participate in this year's parade.
Previously, on May 5, the air training session of the Victory Day parade took place in Moscow, with the participation of the Russian Knights (Su-30SM) fighter squadron, Strizhi (MiG-29) and the Su-25 attack group.
