At the invitation of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam sent forces to participate in the parade of "80th anniversary of victory in the great national defense war" in Russia. This is the first time the Vietnam People's Army has participated in the parade activities abroad.
The group consists of 86 members, of which 68 soldiers are students of the Army Officer School 1 will participate in the parade, along with reserve members, leaders in charge, teachers, coaches, doctors, interpreters and security officers.
The entire group has been in Moscow since the night of April 24 ( Moscow time), safe and in good health. During the training days, the delegation was welcomed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, arranged a place to eat and rest at a facility 60 km from the capital.
Every day, the whole group practices according to their program right at the facility, and on the day of training, the group moves to the sports school. The conditions for living, traveling and especially security are guaranteed by the Russian side very thoughtfully and strictly.
On the evening of May 3, the Vietnam People's Army delegation had a training session in Red Square with delegations from other countries to prepare to attend the parade on May 9.
Announced about this training session, many overseas Vietnamese gathered to welcome and express their affection for the "soldiers".
About 500 people responded and enthusiastically invited each other to the Kitai Gorod area where the groups gathered to enter Red Square.
Many traders closed their stores early, many families were traveling all three generations. For them, the joy of welcoming groups from Vietnam is the joy of being near their homeland once more, even though many have now become citizens of Bach Duong.
Sharing with VNA, Ms. Lieu, a Thai Binh native, who has lived in Moscow for 30 years, said that although she does not live in Vietnam, people always think and look forward to the Fatherland. No matter what country they carry a passport from, the Fatherland of Vietnam is still our. That love always surges whenever there is an opportunity, as if welcoming this "special visit" of Uncle Ho's soldiers.
Notable in the crowd were the military uniforms of Uncle Ho's soldiers. Uncle Pham Van Muoi, a veteran, brought his whole family to pick up his post-group soldiers.
Following the training sessions through Vietnamese newspapers and radio channels, Mr. Muoi understands the difficulties that young soldiers have to overcome. The weather in Moscow has fluctuated unseasonably for many days now, but the training sessions have not been affected by rain or snow.
For the old soldiers, the song Cachiusa - a traditional song of the Red Army soldiers - when sung by young Vietnamese soldiers in Red Square has a strange attraction, raising gratitude and pride.
Russia has approached the important holiday - Victory 9.5. The song "Like Uncle Ho on a happy day of great victory" blends with Cachiusa to resound heroically on the path of victory.
