The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has just released a new video recording the scene of drones attacking Russia's Tu-22M3 strategic bomb squadron at Belaya airport, Irkutsk province. This is part of Ukraine's " spider web" campaign to destroy Russia's military infrastructure.
The video shows the entire journey of a Ukrainian-deployed FPV UAV starting from the cabin of a truck. The UAV flew a long distance without obstacles, entering the airport where a plane had been hit before, and smoke was still rising.
On June 1, SBU carried out simultaneous airstrikes on Russian military airports: Olenya (Murmansk), Ivanovo Severny (Ivanovo), Dyagilevo (Ryazan) and Belaya ( Irkutsk). These are important bases containing Russian strategic aircraft, often used to attack Ukrainian cities.
According to SBU Vasyl Maliuk, the " spider web" operation destroyed and damaged 41 Russian aircraft, including the A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22M3, Tu-160, An-12 and Il-78. Estimated damage is estimated at about 7 billion USD.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Ukrainian special forces will only use domestic weapons in this operation, not relying on equipment from allies.
