According to Aljazeera, Hezbollah launched a rocket targeting the headquarters of the Israeli Intelligence Agency (Mossad) near Tel Aviv on September 25.
Sirens sounded throughout Tel Aviv when the missile intrusion was detected. Immediately afterwards, the Israeli military immediately deployed its defense system and successfully intercepted it.
Hezbollah said the targeted building was where Israel researched technology and planned the mass explosion of pagers and other electronic devices that took place in Lebanon in mid-September.
To date, the death toll from the series of explosions has reached 500 people killed and around 10,000 injured. Hezbollah has repeatedly accused Israel of being behind the sophisticated attack.
The non-state armed group said the attack on Tel Aviv was to support those in Gaza and protect Lebanon and its people. Hezbollah also revealed the missile model used was Qader 1, which was launched at 6:30 a.m. (local time).
Only one missile appeared in the sky over Tel Aviv, the Israeli military said this was a "message" from Hezbollah about the armed group asserting its ability to launch missiles.
The Israeli military noted that this was the first time Hezbollah missiles had penetrated central Israel. Last month, Hezbollah warned of an attack on an intelligence facility near Tel Aviv, but there was no confirmation from Israel.
There have been no reports of any casualties or property damage yet.
In addition, the Israeli Air Force also responded with an attack on the Nafakhiyeh area in Lebanon and destroyed a series of Hezbollah missile launchers.
