According to Reuters, on April 7, the Israeli military said that initial results of the investigation into the shooting death of 15 rescue workers in the southern Gaza Strip last month showed that the incident occurred because the soldiers felt threatened.
The Israeli military confirmed that it had discovered six Hamas gunmen in the city of Rafah at the time of the incident.
Although the initial cause of the fire was believed to be to guard against the threat after a previous clash, the Israeli military has yet to make a final conclusion. The case will continue to be investigated more deeply in the coming days.
According to Israel, 6 of the 15 dead were identified as Hamas gunmen, but their identities have not been released. This force is committed to widely announcing the results of the investigation.
However, the Israeli military did not mention claiming responsibility in the latest statement.
Reuters reported that rescue workers died on March 23, and their bodies were later buried in farm turuses. Initially, the Israeli military said it had opened fire as some unidentified vehicles approached the night. However, the statement was later changed when the leaked video clearly showed ambulances and fire trucks with signal lights being shot down.
The murdered rescue workers belong to the Red Cross Society, the Red cross and entire moon Society, the United Nations and the Palestine Civil Emergency Services Agency.
After the incident, the Red cross moon Association called for an international investigation and declared the Israeli army's attack on the ambulance group "a war crime", and accused the force of continuously violating international humanitarian law.
However, the Red crossburne Moon Association has yet to respond to the latest conclusion from the Israeli military.
