Thus, in the 48 hours, from the morning of April 30 to the morning of May 2 (the first two days of the holiday), a total of 7,184 people came to see a doctor and provide emergency care for suspected traffic accidents.
On the second day of the entire holiday, the number of patients suspected of being involved in traffic accidents who had to be hospitalized for inpatient treatment or monitoring was 1,545 people, down about 200 compared to the first day, similarly the number of cases requiring referral also decreased.
However, the number of deaths suspected of traffic accidents increased by 2 cases compared to the previous day, bringing the total number of deaths to 30 cases after the first 2 days off.
Of the 16 cases identified as deaths suspected of traffic accidents on the second day of the holiday, 11 died before going to medical examination and treatment facilities, 5 died at the hospital. The number of patients suspected of having died in traffic accidents is predicted to be 6, higher than the previous day.
As of the morning of May 2, a total of more than 5,500 people suspected of being treated for traffic accidents at medical examination and treatment facilities, a decrease of about 1,200 cases compared to the first day off.
Regarding the situation of general examination and emergency, according to the report of the Department of Medical Examination Management, the whole country has nearly 81,000 patients coming to the hospital. The total number of deaths including death on the way to the medical examination and treatment facility and the prognosis of death is 206 patients.
This year's 30.4-1.5 holiday, employees of many agencies and units will have 5 consecutive days off (from April 30 to May 4) but some places will not implement compensation, employees will have 2 days off on April 30 and May 1.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, said: During the April 30 and May 1 holidays in 2025, medical examination and treatment facilities have organized 24/7 duty; have plans to ensure enough human resources, medicine, supplies, equipment... to be ready for traffic accident emergency care, organize mass emergency care if it occurs...
In particular, the medical work at the April 30 parade event in Ho Chi Minh City took place safely, only one case of a overseas Vietnamese tourist with hypoglycemia due to waking up early to go see a parade at 3am was given timely emergency care.
Dr. Ha Anh Duc assessed that all medical examination and treatment facilities strictly implement the Ministry of Health's direction on on standing staff to ensure medical examination and treatment for emergency traffic accidents during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.
The situation of examination, emergency care; hospitalization, and death suspected of traffic accidents has not changed compared to the same holiday last year.
