According to RT, the email about security measures for Mr. Vladimir Putin's official visit was sent to the mailbox of a Finnish woman named Minna Timonen instead of to the police chief as planned.
The content of these emails includes the exact time the helicopter carrying Vladimir Putin to Savonlinna airport, as well as the activities of the Finnish President Sauli Niinisto.
"The two helicopters are in the air and will land at 6:37 and hold 1:38 p.m. No information about the third helicopter," one of the leaked reports about the Russian president's visit.
At first, Ms. Minna Timonen thought it was a junk letter but later realized that the email address was from the Finnish police.
"I started searching on Google and found that email address was from the police. I have no relationship with the police. Therefore, I can't understand why these emails come to my inbox," Minna Timonen shared with Iltalehti.
The leak of information about Vladimir Putin's schedule was confirmed by police spokesman Arto Tynkkynen.
"The messages were sent to people's emails after 9:00 p.m., about 9 hours after President Vladimir Putin arrived. That means there is no threat to the safety of the presidents. At that time, the president was watching operas at Olavinlinna," said spokesman Arto Tynkkynen.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the town of Savonlinna, southeastern Finland on July 27 at the personal invitation of President Sauli Niinisto. In addition to watching the Opera at Olavinlinna castle, the two leaders also went sightseeing on Saimaa lake.
Mr. Vladimir Putin's visit took place on the occasion of Finland's 100th anniversary of independence from Russia. Although supporting Western sanctions against Russia, Finland has remained broadly neutral in its relations with its neighbor.
