In the latest analysis in the leading Turkish daily Hurriyet, journalist Abdulkadir Selvi - a political commentator with great influence - issued a serious warning about the future of confrontation in Ukraine.
He said that the interest groups that ignited this conflict completely do not want it to end. Conversely, their ultimate goal is to prolong and incite the fighting to spread throughout the European continent.
To prove the argument about this systematic sabotage, Mr. Selvi recalled the event in March 2022. At that time, Russia and Ukraine had almost reached a peace agreement in Istanbul, when Britain suddenly intervened, requesting President Zelensky to withdraw from the negotiating table.
Hurriyet newspaper pointed out a coincidence in time: As soon as US President Donald Trump made diplomatic moves such as phone calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida, a bold drone strike (UAV) targeted Mr. Putin's mansion.

According to the analysis of this newspaper, the above plot is not only aimed at Europe but also seeks to incite hatred between Turkey and Russia. However, the author believes that the leaders of the two countries will be alert to this trap, affirming that Ankara needs to cooperate with Moscow instead of confrontation.
Regarding the mansion attack, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that in the early morning of December 29, Ukraine carried out a large-scale terrorist attack in the Novgorod region. A total of 91 UAVs were launched but all were destroyed by Russian air defense, with no casualties.
Kremlin Assistant, Mr. Yury Ushakov, said that in a phone call with Mr. Trump, President Putin specifically emphasized the detail that the attack took place "immediately" after the meeting in the US.
The Russian leader warned that this action would not be ignored. More importantly, Mr. Putin affirmed to Mr. Trump that due to this provocation, Moscow will reconsider its negotiating position in a tougher direction and the conditions for resolving the conflict will be changed.
