The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the case of a piece of the wing of a Boeing 737 that broke before landing in Texas on August 19.
Delta Air Lines flight number 1893 was flying from Orlando International Airport to Austinbergstrom International Airport when passengers discovered a partially broken object in the back of the plane's wing.
We felt a strong disturbance. The plane shook violently. The woman sitting in front of us pulled up the window cover and said it was broken. I also opened the window cover to see and was very scared" - passenger Shanila Arif shared.
Video recorded by Arif passengers shows the flapping flaps behind the flaps, as the plane flies at hundreds of kilometers per hour at altitudes of thousands of meters.
This passenger expressed concern that if the debris was completely broken, it could hit the rear of the plane and cause an accident.
After landing, we observed that part of the left wing was no longer intact. The aircraft has been suspended for maintenance," Delta Air Lines said.
The wing is the rear mounted panels of the wing, which can open up when the aircraft takes off and lands.
There were 62 passengers and 6 crew members on the plane who had an accident. No one was injured.
Delta Air Lines apologizes to customers and pledges to cooperate fully with the investigation of the US Federal Aviation Administration.
