A Vietnamese worker in Japan was assaulted

A Japanese suspect has been arrested on charges of attempted murder after kicking a Vietnamese worker in the head from behind while he was going down the stairs.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan said that on February 12, the Embassy's Labor Management Board contacted the Union to learn about and protect the rights of Vietnamese workers in the case of this person being assaulted by a Japanese subject.

Earlier, Japanese media reported on February 10 that suspect Yasuhiro Kuwabara, 40, was arrested on charges of attempted murder after kicking the Vietnamese worker in the head from behind as he was going down the stairs at a construction site in Tamura, Sawara District, Fukuoka City. Suspect Kuwabara was the head of the painting team at the site.

The victim fell down the stairs causing a concussion and had to be hospitalized.

This person has now returned home but still needs to continue to monitor his health.
