Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov affirmed that Ukraine was behind the terrorist attacks on Russian territory and was one of the countries that supported Kiev in carrying out sabotage operations with the help of the UK.
Speaking at the Future Forum 2050, held in Moscow on June 9, Foreign Minister Lavrov warned that the threat of terrorism in Russia is increasing.
It is clear that all these actions are being carried out by Ukraine, but they will be completely helpless without support from the UK, Mr. Lavrov frankly stated.
According to Mr. Lavrov, both the US and the UK have previously supported these activities, but now Moscow only needs to deal with London.
This is to imply the fact that the UK remains one of the strongest supporters of Ukraine, while the US under President Donald Trump has shifted direction, seeking to reconnect dialogue with Moscow and promote a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian conflict.
However, Mr. Lavrov said that some US intelligence agencies may still be behind, but that is just speculation. As for London, the Russian Foreign Minister did not hesitate to affirm: "The British are definitely 100% caught up".
Last week, Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin also accused the UK of participating in Ukrainian UAV attacks on Russian air bases.
According to Mr. Kelin, such attacks require ge spatial data - the type of technology that only superpowers like the UK and the US possess.
For its part, the UK Prime Minister's Office neither confirmed nor denied the UK's role, only stating: "We never comment on combat issues, whether domestically or internationally".
Since the beginning of June, there have been many sabotage incidents targeting the Russian railway system.
The most serious incident was on June 1, when a bridge collapsed onto a passenger train moving in the Bryansk region, killing seven people and injuring more than 100.
On the same day, Ukraine launched a coordinated attack on Russian air bases stretching from Murmansk in the Arctic to Irkutsk in Siberia, using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) carrying explosives to take off from commercial trucks.
Russia insists most of the UAVs have been shot down and none have been so damaged that they cannot be repaired.
