On August 18, according to TASS news agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Ukrainian army had lost 674 aircraft since Russia began its special military operation.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Aerospace Forces had shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to data released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, since the special military operation began, Russian forces have destroyed a total of 674 aircraft, 284 helicopters and 212,445 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of Ukraine.
In addition to aircraft, the Russian side announced that it had destroyed 669 air defense missile systems, 3,624 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,774 multiple launch rocket systems, 36,186 field artillery and mortars, and 69,581 specialized military vehicles.
The figures were released by the Russian Ministry of Defense in a summary report on equipment losses in Ukraine since the special military operation began.
Among the weapons mentioned, aircraft and helicopters are groups of vehicles specifically counted by the Russian Ministry of Defense. This agency said that the Russian Aerospace Forces continued to conduct combat operations targeting Ukrainian military aircraft, including the earlier announced downing of a MiG-29.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also counted damage to Ukrainian ground vehicles and fire systems. In which, more than 30,600 tanks and armored fighting vehicles, nearly 1,800 multiple rocket launchers and more than 36,000 field artillery and mortars are believed to have been destroyed.
Currently, the Ukrainian side has not commented on the above information.
