On August 11 (Moscow time), according to TASS news agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Russian Aerospace Forces conducted airstrikes targeting Ukrainian units in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), Kharkov province and Sumy province.
According to the announcement, targets were detected during reconnaissance, including temporary gathering points of Ukrainian forces and a drone control center (UAV). After determining the location, Russian combat crews were ordered to conduct airstrikes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the FAB-250 bomb, equipped with a multi-purpose winding and adjustment module and LMUR aircraft missiles, has been used in attacks.
FAB-250 is a Russian air bomb weighing about 250kg. When equipped with UMPK modules, the bomb can be converted from a conventional drop-off bomb to a plane bomb capable of adjusting flight paths and attacking targets from a greater distance. The exploitation of available FAB bombs and the addition of guidance modules help Russia create a relatively low-cost weapon that still has great destructive power.
In the DPR, the target was a temporary gathering point of the 63rd Independent Brigade near the Donetskoye settlement.
In Kharkov province, Russian forces targeted a temporary gathering point of the 104th Independent Territorial Defense Brigade near the Boldyrevka settlement.
Meanwhile, in Sumy province, the Russian Ministry of Defense identified the target as the UAV control center of the 119th Independent Territorial Defense Brigade at the Porozok settlement.
Thus, according to information released by the Russian side, the airstrikes focused on facilities believed to be serving the operations of Ukrainian units, including forces gathering points and UAV control facilities.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not disclose the exact time of the attacks as well as detailed information about the extent of damage at the targets. The announcement also did not mention casualties of Ukrainian forces.
Currently, the Ukrainian side has not commented on the above information.
