Russia believes the US holds the key to shaping world order

With many countries around the world aligning their stance with the White House, Russia believes that the future world order will depend largely on the United States.

RT reported that on January 20, at a meeting of the National Security Council chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that world order will largely depend on new US policies in the future.

Moscow is also ready for dialogue with Washington, the top diplomat said.

Mr. Lavrov explained that the stance of most allies in Europe and some countries in Asia including Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand are completely oriented towards the White House. Therefore, they are always in a state of waiting for changes from the US government.

According to Mr. Lavrov, after Mr. Donald Trump took office as the 47th President of the United States at noon on January 20 (local time), Washington's role is likely to become increasingly important in the ongoing conflicts in many regions of the world, including the Middle East and Ukraine.

Also on January 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his best wishes to Mr. Trump before the inauguration ceremony, and expressed his welcome for the upcoming plans of the US administration.

The 47th US President has repeatedly stated his desire to restore relations with Moscow and prevent the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Previously, on January 13, Mr. Trump affirmed that he would arrange to meet Mr. Putin as soon as possible, after completing the power transfer procedures at the White House.

When asked about his strategy to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Mr. Trump affirmed that there is only one way, largely depending on the decision of President Vladimir Putin. Mr. Trump expected that this plan would take 6 months after taking office to implement.
