Regarding the work of ensuring social security during the Lunar New Year, with the goal of not leaving anyone behind, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi said that since the beginning of the year, the Ministry has issued a document reporting on the work of providing and distributing rice and proposing rice support for the Lunar New Year and the crop gap in early 2025.
Localities shall review households facing hunger during Tet and the early 2025 crop gap; proactively arrange local budgets and mobilize other legal resources to provide timely support to households facing hunger, those affected by natural disasters, floods, epidemics and other force majeure events.
In case of unbalanced and unplanned arrangements, localities shall send documents to the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to synthesize proposals and submit them to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on rice support for famine relief.
