On March 26, in an interview with France Televisions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov gave detailed assessments of the incident on the Nord Stream gas pipeline. According to the top Russian diplomat, there are many signs that forces from Ukraine carried out this incident with the support of Western intelligence agencies.
Mr. Lavrov especially emphasized the unusual silence of the international community in the face of a serious energy infrastructure incident. He expressed disappointment that no country officially condemned this action.
The Russian Foreign Minister assessed that both France and Germany seemed to have secretly accepted a sabotage act, despite the fact that this incident directly affected the core interests and energy security of the European countries themselves.

In addition, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also noted Washington's recent calculated moves. US officials began to mention the intention to control or take over what remains of the Nord Stream system.
Reality shows that since the incident, the US has significantly increased its exports of liquefied natural gas to the European market, gaining strategic economic benefits in the context of allies struggling to solve the energy shortage problem.
Looking back at the context of the incident, on September 26, 2022, an unprecedented large-scale attack targeted the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 undersea gas pipeline systems. The consequence of the incident was that 3 out of 4 branches of this system were completely damaged, only one branch of Nord Stream 2 remained intact.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Russian General Procuratorate officially opened an investigation, considering this an act of international terrorism to clarify the cause and determine the parties responsible.
