Speaking at a meeting with people in Kiskunlachaza, Pest County, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that the supply of Russian oil to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline is currently blocked from Ukraine. According to him, "those who set Nord Stream on fire are now blocking the transportation of oil through the Druzhba pipeline".
He called the EU's failure to complete the investigation into the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage "a shameful thing", and reiterated the view that this is an act of "state terrorism".
According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, some European leaders not only ignored but also "honored the suspects as heroes".
MTI news agency quoted Mr. Szijjarto as emphasizing: "We are not allowed to let that happen". He said that protecting oil and gas pipelines to Hungary from the risk of attacks is extremely important.
According to the Hungarian Foreign Minister, the possibility of similar attacks cannot be ruled out and it is necessary to be ready to respond. He said the government has taken "necessary measures to prevent plots to detonate oil and gas pipelines in Hungary".

Earlier the same day, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban ordered increased protection of the country's energy infrastructure against the threat of attacks from Ukraine. He said he would deploy forces and military equipment at relevant facilities.
Police patrols at power plants, distribution stations and control centers have also been strengthened. In the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg area in northeastern Hungary, bordering Ukraine, unmanned aerial flights have been banned.
The explosions on the two Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines occurred on September 26, 2022. Some Ukrainian citizens were arrested in Italy and Poland as suspects in the case. Italy extradited one person to Germany for trial, while Poland refused to extradite.
The investigation is still ongoing. Previously, the German Federal Supreme Court stated in a ruling that the explosions on the Nord Stream pipeline were likely carried out "on behalf of a foreign country", specifically Ukraine.
