AFP journalists in Kiev heard an explosion right after the Ukrainian air force warned people via Telegram about the ballistic missiles targeting them. One of the explosions was so strong that it triggered the alarm bells of cars parked in the city center, an AFP journalist reported on July 19.
There are currently no exact figures on the number of people injured or killed in Russia's latest attack on the Ukrainian capital. "According to preliminary information, unfortunately, 1 person has died in the attack" - the city military government informed on Telegram.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that 7 people were injured. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said that 2 people were injured.
Russian night attacks on Kiev caused fires and damage to buildings in many districts of the capital. An apartment building in the Solomianskyi district was bombed and a fire broke out in a supermarket, while a residential house was burned down in the Sviatoshynsky district.
Attacks were also recorded at a shopping and entertainment center in Dniprovsky district, an apartment building in Shevchenkivsky district and a non-residential building.
Previously, on July 18, Ukraine deployed drones to attack and destroy e-commerce warehouses in Moscow and Tambov regions of Russia, killing 8 people and causing major fires.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the centers in Moscow and Tambov that Ukraine just attacked of being used "to supply banned components used in the production of drones and positioning equipment".
More than 370 drones were launched towards Moscow overnight, Russian capital city mayor Sergei Sobyanin informed. He added that from July 11-18, nearly 1,892 Ukrainian drones heading towards Moscow were intercepted.
