Polish and French officials held the first consultation to discuss the "nuclear block" initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.
To continue the French President's proposal to participate in strategic dialogue on advanced deterrence with European partners, Poland and France will hold the first consultation of the Nuclear Cooperation Steering Group, in Paris on July 10, 2026" - the Polish Foreign Ministry stated in a post on social network X.
Warsaw did not elaborate on the consultation with Paris, only stating that the two delegations "focused on the current security situation in Europe".
Previously, President Emmanuel Macron announced France's intention to apply the concept of "advanced deterrence", including joint exercises with partner countries, as well as deploying components of French strategic forces on the territory of other countries in Europe.
The French leader also announced plans to strengthen the country's nuclear arsenal and noted that Paris no longer intends to disclose the exact number of warheads it possesses.
