On August 5, according to TASS news agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that its forces had launched an attack targeting many logistics centers in Kiev, Ukraine, including the logistics center of Nova Post - Ukraine's largest postal and logistics enterprise.
According to the Russian side, the targets attacked also include the Chaika International Logistics Partnership Center, a modern logistics station and the logistics center of Epicenter - a large retail and logistics group of Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense accused these facilities of being used to receive, store, classify and distribute dual-use items, including components for the manufacture of medium and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), along with robotic and electronic warfare systems.
Regarding Chaika, Russia believes that this is a place to gather and distribute components for UAV production. Meanwhile, Epicenter's logistics center is described as one of the largest automated warehouses, undertaking the processing and transportation of many types of goods that Moscow believes are related to military activities.
To date, the Ukrainian side has not commented and has not confirmed the information Russia announced about the targets being attacked.
Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, logistics centers, fuel depots, railways and transport infrastructure have regularly become targets of attack by both sides. Russia has repeatedly stated that it only targets military facilities or those with dual-use functions, while the Ukrainian side believes that many attacks have affected civilian infrastructure.
