The Russian army has established a springboard in the southeastern suburbs of Dobropolye village - the outskirts of the city of the same name in Ukraine - and is advancing in this residential area, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS news agency on September 5.
There is information that our army has established a springboard in the southeastern suburbs of Dobropolye village and is advancing. Overall, I can say that our army has significantly accelerated the pace of the offensive in the direction of Dobropolye, with the control zone near the Krasnopolye residential area having been expanded," Mr. Marochko said.
Also according to this expert, units of the Ukrainian army have been pushed out of Novogrishino in the direction of Dobropolye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), turning this residential area into an uncontrolled buffer zone.
According to information I have, Ukrainian gunmen have been completely pushed back from Novogrishino - this residential area has become the so-called gray area," he said.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the evening of September 4 that air defense forces had shot down 480 Ukrainian drones in the airspace of Russian and Black Sea regions during the day.
