Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) on February 24 accused Britain and France of actively studying the possibility of providing a nuclear explosive device to Ukraine.
In an official statement, SVR said that London and Paris believe that possessing nuclear weapons can help Ukraine gain more favorable terms in the process of ending the conflict.
There is a view that Ukraine needs to be provided with a "miracle weapon". Kiev will be able to make demands on more favorable terms to end the fighting if it possesses an atomic bomb, or at least a type of "dirty bomb"" - the statement stated.
According to SVR, Germany has refused to participate in this "dangerous adventure".
Also according to SVR, London and Paris are resolving issues related to the supply of the above-mentioned weapons as well as launching systems to Kiev.
We are talking about secretly transferring to Ukraine European components, equipment and technology in this field. One of the options being considered is the French TN-75 small-sized nuclear warhead for the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile" - the statement stated.
Regarding the above statement, the Federation Council (Russian Senate) has called on parliamentarians in London and Paris, as well as international organizations, to investigate Britain and France's intention to provide nuclear explosives to Ukraine.
