The Russian special envoy said that the issue of the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline connecting Russia and China will be resolved soon.

The issue related to the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline project lies in logistics, not price, and will be resolved soon.

The information was shared by Mr. Boris Titov, Chairman of the Russian side of the Russia-China Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, and also special envoy of the Russian President, in an interview with TASS news agency.

The press has written a lot about the Siberian Power 2 agreement, which has not yet been signed. I can say that although I am not directly in charge of this issue, but as Co-Chairman of the Russia-China Friendship Committee, as far as I know, the current difficulty lies in technical issues" - Mr. Titov said.

Mr. Boris Titov pointed out that the obstacle of the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline today is not the issue of gas prices as many media outlets have reported.

This is not about us not being able to agree on the price level. The problem is not there. The main difficulty relates to logistics, specifically choosing a suitable option for the route of this gas pipeline" - the Russian special envoy said.

This is a technical issue in the implementation process and will be resolved soon" - he emphasized.

The Power of Siberia 2 pipeline connecting Russia and China is expected to be about 2,600km long and was previously valued at about 13.6 billion USD. This project has been repeatedly delayed since initial discussions began in 2006. According to the plan, the pipeline has a transport capacity of about 50 billion m3 of gas per year.
