The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said that the Tsunami hit Russia's Far East coast on July 30, flooding the port town of about 2,000 people.
"Typhoons have flooded parts of the port town of Severo- Kurilsk... People have been evacuated," the Russian Emergency Ministry said.
The video posted on Russian social media shows the towns buildings submerged in water.
Russian state news agency TASS reported that several people were injured in the earthquake in the Far East.
"Unfortunately, there were injured people in the earthquake. All patients are in stable condition. There have been no reports of serious injuries," Kamchatka Health Minister Oleg Melnikov said.
Previously, Valery Limarenko - Governor of Sakhalin region in the Far East of Russia - said that the first sunny spells had hit the coastal area of Severo- Kurilsk.
"People are safe in the highlands until the threat of further sunslides is completely lifted," Limarenko wrote on Telegram.
The governor of Kamchatka region in Russia's Far East has urged people not to get close to the coast.
"I urge people to stay away from the coast in areas prone to sunts and follow announcements on loudspeakers," he said.
Kamchatka region has the coastal city of Petropavlovsk- Kamchatsky, with a population of about 180,000 people.
The 8.7 term richter earthquake occurred off the Russian Far East coast on the morning of July 30.
Initially, the intensity of the earthquake was reported at 8.0 degrees richter and was later adjusted to 8.7 degrees richter.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake occurred 136km east of Petropavlovsk- Kamchatsky, Russia's Far East region.
