On June 15, law enforcement officials said Vance Boelter (57 years old) - the suspect in the deliberate assassination of two US lawmakers and their relatives in Minnesota - was arrested after a hours of hours of hunting in areas near the scene.
The information was provided by the Ramsey District Police Department along with a photo of Bolter being arrested.
The official dispatch from the Ramsey District Police Department stated: Thanks to the close coordination between the authorities and the support of the community, justice has gone one step forward.
Boelter was accused of shooting two Democratic lawmakers and their relatives early on the morning of June 14 (local time) in an attack that officials believe had political motives.
Ms. Melissa Hortman - Speaker of the House of Representatives of Minnesota and her husband were killed in the attack, while Senator John Hoffman and his wife were injured.
According to the recently published lawsuit, Boelter, who claimed to be a security expert who worked with Hoffman in the labor force development committee, is facing two charges of second-degree murder and two charges of second-degree murder.
Notably, Lieutenant Colonel Jeremy Geiger of the state patrol force said that Boelter voluntarily surrendered without the police using force.
