On August 29, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Dinh Ban 1 and Dinh Ban 2 Primary School in Thach Khe commune have basically had their fallen trees and corrugated iron roofs blown away by the storm, and the school and classrooms have been cleaned.
However, the classroom block on the 2nd floor had its roof leaking and leaking, and it was not re-roofed, and could not be used for teaching when there were only a few days left until the new school year.
Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyet - Principal of Dinh Ban Primary School - said that storm No. 5 completely blown off the roofs of two floors of classrooms in both campus 1 and campus 2, affecting a total of 8 classrooms, making it impossible to use for teaching.
After the storm, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and leaders of departments and branches directly inspected.
According to Ms. Tuyet, the school has also reported the damage, and she is not sure when the functional departments and local authorities will allocate funds, repair, and re-roof the school roof.
"In the immediate future, the school will temporarily arrange department rooms, if it is still not enough, we will arrange extra classes," Ms. Tuyet shared.
At Son Loc Secondary School (Xuan Loc Commune), storm No. 5 blew off the roof of a 2-storey building with 13 rooms, damaging all equipment in the classroom, including hundreds of books in the library.
Mr. Hoang The Anh - Principal of Xuan Loc Secondary School - said that the school still has a number of main classrooms.
However, with the 2-storey 13-room building including the departmental practice room, library room, traditional room, medical room, army room, and other functional room having its roof blown off by the storm, it is impossible to repair or re-roof it because this room has been built for 26 years, the walls are weak and do not ensure safety.
Therefore, in the immediate future, in this school year, when that row of rooms has not been rebuilt, the school can only teach vegetarian practice (no equipment), or bring the equipment to other theoretical classrooms for practical teaching.

Storm No. 5 caused Hoa Lien Secondary School (Co Dam commune) to have its roof collapse and the roof of a 2-storey building with 4 classrooms blown off.
Mr. Tran Minh Do - Principal of Hoa Lien Secondary School said that after storm No. 5, the repair and cleaning work at the school has basically been completed.
However, with a 2-storey building with 4 classrooms on the 2nd floor with a completely blown roof, normally it is sunny and airy, so it can be used for teaching, but when it rains, it cannot be used due to leakage and leakage, so there will be a lack of classrooms.
Therefore, the school recommends that local authorities and functional agencies soon arrange funding to repair, repair, and re-roof these two-story classrooms to ensure stable teaching and learning, ensuring enough rooms.
According to the report of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province, storm No. 5 caused great damage to this locality. Of which, in terms of education alone, 47 schools were damaged and had their roofs blown off.
Ha Tinh province proposed that the Government support more than 2,000 billion VND to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5. Of which, 200 billion VND is spent on repairing schools, medical facilities, and culture alone.
