A tanker truck explosion in Mexico City, Mexico's capital, on September 10 killed three people and injured 70 others.
The incident occurred on a large highway, causing smoke and fire to rise fiercely in the south of the capital of Mexico.
Mayor Santa Brugada called the tanker truck explosion an "urgent case".
The Brugada Mayor arrived at the scene of the blast to work with rescue teams, including firefighters and medical staff, to extinguish the fire that had risen from the gas tank.
The explosion burned down 18 vehicles. Of the 70 injured, 19 are in serious condition.
Prosecutors are investigating the incident, but initial information shows the tanker truck detonated after it overturned on the highway, Brugada said.
The list of injured people shows that some people suffered 100% skin burns.
The blast occurred on one of the most important routes from the capital of Mexico to the city of Puebla. The road was reopened that evening.
