Donald Trump sues CBS for $10 billion in damages

Donald Trump, a candidate for the 2024 US presidential election, sued CBS over an interview with Kamala Harris on "60 Minutes".

Just days before the 2024 US presidential election, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sued CBS on October 31 over an interview with Democratic rival Kamala Harris that aired on the news program "60 Minutes" in early October.

The complaint, filed in federal court in Texas, accuses the network of airing two different answers from Harris to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

In particular, the version of Ms. Kamala Harris's answer broadcast on the program "60 Minutes" on October 6 did not include Ms. Harris's answer about the influence of the current US administration on the war launched by Israel.

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are competing in the 2024 race for the White House. US election polls show that the competition between the Democratic and Republican candidates is fierce.

Trump is seeking a jury trial and damages of about $10 billion, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit also accuses CBS of violating Texas laws prohibiting deceptive business practices.

The United States will officially enter the presidential election every four years on November 5, 2024. Historically, US presidential elections have always been highly anticipated events and are considered one of the most intense and longest elections in the world.
