Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is eagerly awaiting today's first visit.

Mr. Thaksin has completed 5 days of quarantine at Klong prem prison and is eagerly waiting to meet relatives on September 15, according to the announcement from the Thai correctional agency.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Shane Kanchanapaj - Deputy Director General and Spokesperson of the Department of Education - said that Mr. Thaksin had ended his mandatory quarantine period after being detained by the Supreme Court. He affirmed that the former Prime Minister's health is still stable, and his blood pressure has returned to normal.

After the quarantine is over, the next decision will depend on the prison ward. Mr Thaksin is likely to be deployed in a senior prison area - a detention area for those aged 65 and over.

According to the spokesperson, Mr. Thaksin expressed his excitement before the breeding visit on September 15. He is eager to see his family again, to receive spiritual encouragement to overcome his prison days, said Mr. Shane.

Some relatives have registered to visit, but the specific list has not been announced.

The meeting will take place in the prison's visitation room, where prisoners and relatives sit separately because of transparent glass. There are no plans to allow close contact. The Department of Rehabilitation affirmed that the process is applied completely according to general regulations, without special privileges for Mr. Thaksin.

The prison management agency said it will coordinate with local police to maintain order and prevent the possibility of former Prime Minister Thaksin's supporters, especially the "Red shirt" force, gathering outside the prison to express their support.
