Just a few hours later, at the White House, Mr. Trump announced that he would continue to pursue tariffs "within the framework of law". On February 20, the administration imposed a 10% tariff on all imports under Article 122 of a 1974 trade law, before raising it to 15% on the morning of February 21.
The ruling closing more than a year that the president could unilaterally impose, amend or remove taxes only through notification. The question is whether the more than 134 billion USD of tax revenue collected will be repaid.
Previously, the US Department of Justice mentioned the possibility of refunds if taxes are rejected, but Mr. Trump warned that the lawsuit could last for many years.
