The announcement has just been posted on the official shopping website of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) calling for reflections on "unusual" shopping activities organized by air force units.
This is the first time PLA has called for denunciations related to a specific military branch, in a structure consisting of the army, navy, air force, missile force and other specialized forces.
According to the announcement, the reflections will focus on the procurement of military supplies and services, including the stages of evaluating bidding documents, implementing contracts and selecting intermediary bidding units. Suppliers, evaluation experts, bidding agents and internal staff participating in projects can send information under their real names before June 30, 2026.
The move comes as platoons step up reviews of military equipment procurement from 2023. Recently, Play's shopping website has regularly posted warnings and decisions to punish organizations and individuals who violate bidding regulations.
Last September, the missile force removed 74 experts and 116 suppliers from the list of eligible suppliers for violations, including the act of bidding in secret.
The anti-corruption campaign in the Chinese military over the past two years has led to many senior officers being investigated or dismissed, affecting most of the military branches and commanders of the battle zone. However, the air force is said to be less affected than some other forces.
Meanwhile, officers from the air force are holding many important leadership positions. At the parade on September 3, Commander of the Han Thang Dien Central Air Force Station became the first air force officer to command the event.
Commander of the Indochina Military Region Chi Ban is also an air force officer, marking the first time this position has been held by an air force officer.
Military procurement is currently a focus of Beijing's efforts to tighten discipline and prevent corruption in PLA, in the context of China continuing to promote the modernization of the air force.
