The Trump Organization of US President Donald Trump has just announced its own mobile network called Trump Mobile, along with a smartphone model priced at 499 USD. The new project is ambitious to become an alternative to major network operators, targeting conservative consumers.
Speaking at the launch event held at Trump Tower, Donald Trump Jr., President Trump's son, said Trump Mobile will offer "a comprehensive package of products", including remote medical services, assistance when the vehicle has an accident and unlimited text messages to 100 countries, with a fixed monthly fee.
The official website was introduced shortly after, providing detailed information about the Trump-branded phone, expected to be released in September. The accompanying network subscription package costs 47.45 USD/month.
The Trump Organization said Trump Mobile's outlet network will be located in the US and the phone will also be domestically produced. This is part of a strategy to affirm domestic factors, in the context that more than 60 million smartphones purchased by American consumers each year are currently mainly produced abroad such as China, Korea, India and Vietnam.
Mr. Trump's family, which is famous in the fields of real estate, hotels and golf courses, has expanded to new industries such as digital media and cryptocurrency in recent years. The establishment of the Trump Mobile network is a new step forward in the Trump Organization's diversification business orientation.
DTTM Operations - the unit that manages Mr. Trump's own brands - submitted a petition to the US Institute and Brand Office on June 12 to register the "Trump" and "T1" trademarks for telecommunications products, including wireless phones, accessories such as rooftops, chargers and a chain of retail stores.
The Trump Organization is currently the owner of most of Trump's business projects. Ahead of his latest inauguration, the corporation confirmed that the executive would be handed over to Trump's children, similar to his first term, despite concerns about conflicts of interest.
In the US, the mobile network market is dominated by three large corporations, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile - suppliers with more than 95% market share. These enterprises operate complex telecommunications infrastructure systems, providing services to tens of millions of subscribers. Trump Mobile's move into the playground is a remarkable effort to build a new technology brand with a political and personal mark.
