From November 3-7, 2025, the Royal Thai Police will host the 43rd ASEAN Police Command Conference (ASEANAPOL) in Bangkok, with the theme "Cooperation in action: Dismantling fraud, preventing fraud and protecting the people".
The conference gathered about 280 high-level delegates including police chiefs, security officials, dialogue partners and international observers from 10 ASEAN countries, along with many international cooperation organizations in the field of law enforcement.
Thai Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Anutin Charnvirakul attended as a guest of honor, while General Kitrat Phanphet, Commander-in-Chief of the Thai Royal Police, was the head of the host delegation.
The theme "Dissolve fraud, prevent fraud" reflects the common concern of the whole region, when cybercrime and online fraud are epidemic on an unprecedented scale.
Cross-border criminal networks use high technology to lure, appropriate property, and even force victims to participate in illegal activities.
The four key contents of the conference include:
Online fraud and cheating: Discuss information sharing mechanisms, coordinate investigation of cross-border cases.
Cybercrime: Strengthen cybersecurity capacity, protect data and track down high-tech crimes.
Human trafficking: Preventing gangs from organizing illegal border crossings, often linked to fraud centers.
Drug trafficking: Maintain cooperation in the traditional field, aiming to dismantle drug transport routes in the area.
Colonel Jaturapat Bhiromkaew, Deputy Spokesperson of the Thai Royal Police, emphasized that intelligence exchanges between member states play a key role in supporting cybercrime and human trafficking victims more quickly and effectively.
Within the framework of the conference, specialized committees, working groups and bilateral meetings focused on discussing the standardization of information sharing processes, quick response mechanisms and inter-national tracing, to shorten the time to handle cross-border fraud cases.
According to the Royal Thai Police, the results of the conference are expected to enhance the capacity of ASEAN law enforcement forces, helping countries protect people in both real space and cyberspace.
The organization of the 43rd ASEANAPOL conference took place in the context of high-tech crimes and digital fraud spreading throughout Southeast Asia, posing an urgent need for a unified regional cooperation front - where countries share information, synchronize actions and proactively prevent cross-border threats early.
