China successfully launched an earth-monitoring satellite Yaogan-45 from the Van Xuong Cosmodics Center, Hainan province (China) at 10:00 a.m. on September 9 (Beijing time). The satellite has entered a pre-determined orbit, marking the 594th time the Truong Chinh rocket has launched a monitoring satellite.
The improved Truong Chinh-7 rocket carrying a larger payload this time allows China to deploy high-tech and sophisticated satellites.
Experts assess that Yaogan-45 is designed to serve many tasks, from scientific experimentation, natural resource survey, crop yield assessment to disaster prevention support. Satellite data is expected to contribute to improving climate change response capacity and environmental management.
In 2025, China has launched many remote and reconnaissance satellites, strengthening its position as one of the leading countries in space technology.
The successful launch of Yaogan-45 also shows the stability and reliability of the Truong Chinh system, which is considered a pillar in China's space missions.
