In recent days, South Korea has continuously confirmed hundreds of additional COVID-19 infections, causing the country to raise its warning to red on February 23 to warn of rapid spread in the community.
With cases of continuous positive cases detected at more than 20 different locations in South Korea, controlling and grasping hour-by-minute information becomes more important than ever.
With the help of online tools such as Corona Live, Corona Map and Corona Nearby, Koreans can now easily locate people infected with COVID-19 around where they live and continuously update the latest situation on the epidemic.
Corona Live (https://corona-live.com/) is built in Korean, English and Chinese. The interactive map here displays information about the patient, place of residence, nationality and gender. Users will also know which patients are admitted and how many people have been in close contact with them.
Corona Map (https://coronamap.site/) shows the places where COVID-19 infections have just passed and the number of people they have been exposed to. The tool uses different colors of green, yellow, and red to point out the risks of going to those locations. Currently, red means that the patient has arrived at that location less than 24 hours ago, while yellow and green mean that the patient has passed about eight days or more than nine days.
Corona Nearby (https://corona-nearby.com/) allows users to access nearby areas and see unsafe places, hospitals and medical centers where patients may have come for examination.
The above applications all use government statistics and academic data from Korea, China, the US and the World Health Organization (WHO).
