On September 2, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is deploying more soldiers in some areas of the front line, while maintaining attacks on Ukrainian targets.
We are seeing increased Russian forces in some directions, he said. Russia does not accept being forced to seek peace.
According to Mr. Zelensky, Russian forces used 150 drones to attack in one night, more than 50 in the morning and dozens of others in the evening.
Mr Zelensky also criticized Russia for denying US President Donald Trump's statements about the need for a summit to find a solution to end the conflict.
Zelensky has long supported Trump's idea of a direct meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents as an important step towards peace.
Meanwhile, Russia said there was no suitable agenda to hold such a meeting.
