Designed to reduce risks for soldiers on the front line, the Ukrainian military's NUMO robot has a modular structure that allows the installation of many different types of equipment, from artillery towers, receivers to wire cutters and mine clearing equipment.
As a result, NUMO can take on many different roles to replace soldiers performing many tasks, such as transporting supplies, evacuating war invalids and operating in high-risk areas.
NUMO, developed by tank Bureau, a weapons company based in Lviv (Ukraine), can carry a maximum of 300kg of goods and weigh about 620kg when fully equipped.
NUMO can be deployed in less than 10 minutes, with a ground clearance of 23cm and equipped with chain chains, allowing the system to move over complex terrain, including forests and swamps.
The operating speed of this machine with a maximum speed of 6.4km/h ranges from 26km to 45km, corresponding to the number of batteries installed as 2 or 4 tablets.
The manufacturer also equips the car with up to 6 communication systems including Wi-Fi, DTC, Silvus, Starlink, LTE and Sine Link, with a maximum range of about 1.5km.
NUMO is also the platform of the Droid TW reconnaissance and attack system, which can be mounted with the KT-7.62 (PKT) or M2 Browning 12.7mm machine gun. To date, 30 Ukrainian brigades have deployed the Droid TW.
Established in 2024, tank Bureau specializes in designing and manufacturing unmanned ground vehicles, with a research, production and maintenance system spread across Ukraine. The company said it will expand its product line and launch many other robot platforms before the end of 2025.
