The Ukrainian General Staff informed that Ukraine attacked radar systems and an S-400 air defense launcher of Russia in Crimea on March 15.
The statement said that Ukrainian defense forces attacked radar stations 59N6-E "Protivnik" and 73E6 "Parol" near the village of Liubknekhivka in Crimea.
Protivnik Radar is a long-range surveillance system designed to detect and track aircraft, cruise missiles and ballistic targets at high altitudes. The Parol system is used to identify whether aircraft are friends or enemies in Russia's air defense network.
Ukrainian forces also attacked a launcher belonging to the S-400 Triumf air defense system near Dalne in Crimea. Detailed damage levels are still under evaluation.
The General Staff also confirmed that a Valdai radar system attacked by Ukrainian forces near Prymorske in Crimea on March 10 was significantly damaged. The Valdai radar is designed to detect and counter low-flying drones.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, systematically targeting air defense systems will affect Russia's ability to control airspace and protect other military facilities in Crimea.
