On September 16 (local time), according to TASS, Ms. Marine Le Pen, presidential candidate of the National Rally (RN) party and leader of the party's parliamentary group in the French Parliament, said that France is currently unable to continue financial support for Ukraine due to the difficult budget situation.
Answering LCI television channel, Ms. Le Pen said France "is not capable of continuing to provide financial support to Ukraine" in the current situation.
She said that the French government cannot say that the budget is no longer sufficient to adjust pensions, while still allocating billions of euros in the European Union's (EU) aid to Ukraine.
We cannot say that there is not a single euro left to adjust pensions, while allocating billions of euros of EU aid to Ukraine," Le Pen said.
According to Ms. Le Pen, France should focus on creating conditions to promote peace. She called this France's "historical role".
The above statement was made in the context that France is debating the use of budget for domestic programs and support for Ukraine.
Previously, Deputy Chairman of the National Rally (RN), Mr. Louis Aliot, said that if this party comes to power, they will "lock the tap" of funding for Kiev, referring to ending financial support for Ukraine.
Thus, the stance stated in the statements of the leaders of the National Assembly Party is to limit or terminate the use of French financial resources to support Ukraine, while prioritizing resolving domestic issues.
