    Vietnam welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to resume direct negotiations with Ukraine.

    On May 12, answering a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal on May 11 to resume direct negotiations with Ukraine, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang stated: "We welcome the proposal on May 11 of Russian President Vladimir Putin to resume direct negotiations with Ukraine".

    Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang emphasized: "Vietnam's consistent stance is to support the settlement of disputes and disagreements by peaceful means through dialogue, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter, taking into account the legitimate interests of all relevant parties, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world".
