Vietnam implements citizen protection with Tieu Nguyen Bao Ngoc

On May 20, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel announced the deployment of citizen protection related to the train to Gaza.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel said that it is implementing citizen protection measures for Tieu Nguyen Bao Ngoc, a Vietnamese citizen who participated in the Global Sumud Flotilla train heading to the Gaza Strip and was arrested by Israeli authorities.

Immediately after receiving information about the incident, the Consular Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) coordinated with Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Egypt and Turkey and relevant functional agencies in the country to verify the incident; and actively contacted and exchanged with citizen Tieu Nguyen Bao Ngoc's family to have more information, creating favorable conditions for verification and citizen protection" - the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel said.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has contacted the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs to request verification of information related to the incident, requesting to ensure humanitarian treatment, and fully implement international regulations and conventions related to citizen protection and human rights.

Representatives of the Embassy said that they are continuing to closely coordinate with local functional agencies and closely monitor the situation to have necessary support measures for Vietnamese citizens related to the incident.

In the context of the security situation in the Middle East region continuing to be complicated, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel recommends that Vietnamese citizens strictly comply with the regulations of countries in the Middle East region, regularly monitor security warnings from the governments of countries and Vietnamese representative agencies in the region, and at the same time limit going to areas with conflict or unsafety risks.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel said that it will continue to update information and implement necessary citizen protection measures in accordance with Vietnamese law and international practices.
